Below are designs we wish to improve upon whether it has to do with wheelchair compatibility, to sutdent independance

Advantages:

• Benches allow for teachers to ride alongside the students​

Disadvantages: 

• Teachers have to manually spin for use​

• Wheelchairs cannot lock in place​ while in use

Potential Improvements:​

• Adaptive control for students to operate

• Locking mechanism to fit and secure standardized wheelchair wheel bases

• Seating for kids to be taken out of wheel chair and strapped in

Specifications:

• Minimum of 1 student able to operate while in use. 

• Passive mechanism to lock in wheel chair bases.

• Mechanization to operate merry go round without physical exertion.

• Adaptive control for students with limited motor control to operate.

• ADA accessible ​

• Suitable for inclusive playgrounds​

• Can perform in all environments​

Disadvantages:

• Expensive​

• Not student controlled​

Potential Improvements:

• Allow student to activate sound​

• Make sound activation more inclusive​
